RunningPlay Day
Play Day is an amazing national annual event. It takes place on the first Wednesday in August, celebrating children’s right to play in a safe space. Thousands of children and their families come out to play in parks across the UK, and Burnley’s Play Day is one of the highlights in our summer calendar.
The event is packed with fun activities for families to enjoy and it’s free of charge! Burnley Leisure & Culture organise this fantastic event in Burnley. For specific details about times and venues, please call Alexis Turner 01282 664444 or email info@blcgroup.co.uk
Play Streets
Play Streets are neighbour-led short road closures that create a safe space for children to play freely together on their doorstep. These temporary closures allow kids to play without organized games or activities, fostering community bonding and providing a fun environment for families.
If you’re interested in starting play streets in your area, check out the resources and advice available on Playing Out’s website and email info@blcgroup.co.uk for your local toolkit.
