Professional cricket stars use Burnley Leisure facilities to boost their fitness

Players from two local Cricket clubs have been making use of facilities at Burnley Leisure as they push towards improving their fitness levels.

With the cricket season now at the half way stage, both Read and Padiham cricket clubs are pleased that their professional Ravi Jangid and Brady Barends can benefit from having Burnley Leisure sports facilities at their disposal.

The talented young professionals are able to make use of St Peter’s and Padiham leisure centres thanks to a partnership between the clubs and the leisure trust.

Members of the Burnley Leisure have been regularly seeing the players at the leisure centres making use of swimming pools and the training equipment, including the top of the range Synrgy360.

Garry Stein, Padiham Leisure Centre manager, said: “We’re delighted to contribute to the players’ success by providing access to our facilities.

“They both have been making full use of our membership package, which includes fitness rooms, over 100 different fitness classes a week, health suites and swimming pools at both Padiham and St Peter’s Leisure centres.”

Callum Clarke from Padiham Cricket Club said: “The partnership with Burnley Leisure works really well and it is great to have them on board again.”

All-rounder Ravi from India and bowler Brady from South Africa, have each played over 100 first class, list A and Twenty20 matches in their countries
