In the summer of 2015 the Mechanics Theatre took the bold step of renovating a disused space and opening it as a lunchtime bistro. Working in partnership with Simply Classic, who ran an established bistro on Shuttleworth Mead Business Park, the vision was to offer great value home cooked food, beautifully presented, in a unique setting in the town centre of Burnley.
The risk paid off and the Simply Classic Bistro in The Front Room at Burnley Mechanics is a bustling and vibrant weekday eatery, with a fantastic reputation for quality food and great service. The offering extends into pre theatre dining where the bistro is open 2 hours prior to a show, serving an evening menu, allowing customers to enjoy an entire night out at the Mechanics in relaxed and luxurious surroundings, watching the world go by from the Front Room and then enjoying one of the many and varied performances.
Mark Dempsey, Bars and Catering Manager at the Mechanics said ‘We have seen the bistro go from strength to strength since opening, we didn’t know what to expect but have been bowled over by the fantastic support from the people of Burnley. In response to customers wishes we have decided to take the obvious next step and open our doors on a Saturday lunch time, it’s a really exciting time for us because this means we can welcome even more of the community through our doors; people who are at work during the week and families. This venture will sit really well alongside our sister operation at The Prairie Sports Village which already opens on Saturday’s and is enjoying a buoyant trade’
The Simply Classic Bistro at Burnley Mechanics will be open on Saturday’s from 22nd April, 11.30am – 2.30pm. It is also open Monday to Friday 11am – 3pm
