The first Burnley Leisure 10k run takes place on Sunday, 20th September 2015, and there’s still time to enter, but places are going fast.
Runners must have registered online or submitted their applications by 5pm Friday, 18th September to secure their place in the race.
As the countdown to the race day begins in earnest, Burnley Leisure’s assistant manager Garry Stein is urging people to get their running shoes on and sign up quickly.
Garry said: “Don’t miss you chance to be a part of this great event, which is well on its way to becoming an annual fixture, visit bookitzone.com or UKresults.net today and sign up to take part in this terrific event.
“We have limited places to 200 for the first year of the event, so people should get a sprint on and get their applications in early to avoid disappointment.”
Starting at 11am near Padiham Leisure Centre on Park Rd, the race will cover some of the town’s most attractive spots including the new Padiham Greenway, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath as well as the beautiful Hapton and Padiham countryside.
The 10k run is open to anyone aged 15 or over. Application forms can also be picked up from St Peter’s or Padiham leisure centres or obtained by emailing leisure@burnley.gov.uk .
The race is sponsored by Option Hygiene. For more information about the run please visit burnleyleisure.co.uk or email GStein@burnley.gov.uk.
