From spooky roller disco to fun workout sessions, Burnley Leisure has an action-packed programme at the ready celebrating the national Family Learning Festival.
The theme of this year’s festival is Imagination Station, offering many free or low cost activities, which will help not only bring families together for learning that’s fun, but also give them some great ideas how to stay active and healthy.
These include taking part in Burnley Leisure’s Halloween-themed roller disco (30th October), family swimming sessions, arts and crafts workshops, Metafit workouts, and holiday club activities for kids.
Mums and their toddlers are also being invited to join in the fun and get a sweat on at the Buggy Bootcamp on Tuesday, 27th October, between 11am and 11.45am at St Peter’s Leisure Centre.
As well as running the indoor sessions, the leisure trust will also have stalls in Burnley town centre on Wednesday, 28th October, from 11am.
Offering free health checks and cycling competition, the leisure team will also have information about the family activities taking place in leisure centres and the community venues throughout the year.
Paul Foster, head of leisure development at Burnley Leisure, said: “Family learning is an exciting, rewarding, and above all fun way for children and adults to share the joys, adventures and discoveries of learning and staying active.”
“Our activities provide a great chance for families to get a taste of the exciting leisure opportunities available to them. We are hoping to attract people from diverse sections of the community, and have worked hard to ensure the sessions are inclusive and provide something for everyone.”
