The results of a review of Burnley Leisure will be reported to councilors next week.
The scrutiny review found the leisure trust offers impressive, modern and innovative facilities that are popular and well used. It also highlighted the need to continue to market and promote Burnley Leisure services to attract more members, particularly in light of the increased challenge from private gyms.
The scrutiny review report will be considered by Burnley Council’s executive on 27th March.
The report recommends the council continues to develop a marketing strategy and consider changes to the box office bookings system.
Burnley Leisure chief executive Gerard Vinton said: “We’re grateful for the work carried out by the scrutiny review group. They found that Burnley Leisure offers state-of-the-art equipment and excellent facilities, backed up by knowledgeable and friendly staff.
“It’s also very useful for someone to come in and cast a critical eye over what we’re doing as part of our work to continually improve the development of our services and facilities.”
