Burnley Leisure opens its doors to help victims' funds

Burnley Leisure wanted to demonstrate support for the victims of the series of terrible events which have taken place recently: the terrorist attacks at Westminster Bridge, London Bridge, Finsbury Park and close to home at Manchester Arena, and the awful Grenfell Tower fire.

As part of this, they will be operating all their classes at St Peter’s and Padiham Leisure Centre on Monday 3rd July, without making any charge.

Instead, donations are being welcomed from all members and patrons and all proceeds donated will go to the charitable funds for the victims of the Manchester and London tragedies.

Donation classes are available to all fitness levels and are for the following:

St Peter’s:

  • 09.30  Aero-mix
  • 10.30 Group Power
  • 12.00 Spinning
  • 14.45 Aqua-mix

Scott Bryce, the Operations Manager for Burnley Leisure said: “In the gym sessions and during the classes, people have been talking about all these terrible incidents in the news. We wanted to do something that would give an opportunity for people to come together to raise some funds for those affected, and this felt like a good way of making use of our facilities. Everybody will be welcome to join our classes on Monday 3rd July, whether you are a regular user of our the leisure centres or coming along for the first time.”
