Burnley Leisure & Culture is a registered charity employing a team of more than 100 friendly, fully qualified staff. We’re supported by a board of trustees who are drawn from the local community and share our passion for sport and culture in Burnley. Our vision is simple – to make a real difference to the communities we serve.
Our
History
Established in April 2014, the trust operates the majority of leisure facilities in the borough formerly managed by Burnley Council’s sport and culture services. Working in partnership with Burnley Council, the trust is responsible for the operation, management and development of sport and leisure facilities, a theatre, arts development, health and wellbeing, and sport and play development. Since its existence, Burnley Leisure has overseen a growth of leisure and cultural offerings and now incorporated hospitality; arts & culture; golf facilities; health & fitness.
