Wanted: 30 runners to support BLC

We’re on the lookout for 30 runners to take part in the Burnley 10k under the BLC banner!

The race forms part of the Jane Tomlinson Run for All series, inspired by the Yorkshire radiologist who defied doctors who gave her only six months to live due to breast cancer in 2000.

Over the next seven years, as she defied her diagnosis, Jane went on to achieve what many people might struggle to in a lifetime – surmounting increasingly difficult challenges, capturing the attention of people across the world, and raising over £1.85m for charity.

Andrea Pollard, our Events and Partnerships Manager, says:

“We’re looking for runners willing to pay the £25 entry fee and take part for BLC. In return, we’ll give them a £25 voucher to spend at any of our facilities. They’ll get a race t-shirt too and the support of BLC staff on the day.”

The run will start outside Burnley FC on Harry Potts Way and will take runners on a picturesque route that includes Towneley Park.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to highlight our not-for-profit status, as all the money raised by our runners will go to BLC and we invest all of our operating surplus back into the community by constantly improving our facilities and services for everyone – from young children to their grandparents,” adds Andrea.

If you’d like to run for BLC, the race starts at 9.30am on Sunday 17th July at the Turf Moor stadium. For more details contact Andrea Pollard: apollard@blcgroup.co.uk
