A level of water confidence is required to attend but you don’t need to be a competent swimmer. The sessions take place in shallower water where feet are able to touch the floor.

Tablets and all floatation aids, swimming aids and other equipment is provided during the programme. All you need to remember is your swimming costume, towel and goggles if preferred.

Yes. All sessions will be led by a member of the Community and Health team and a lifeguard will be supporting on poolside.

Aquatic activity can be beneficial for managing muscle and joint issues, whether pain, injury or rehab because:

  • Supports general wellbeing and fitness
  • Low impact exercise – water takes pressure off the joints enabling movements that may be uncomfortable on land
  • Helps build up strength in the muscles surrounding the joints

Sessions will be supported by a member of staff who can be on hand to support with any technology issues and help you get to grips with using the tablet. The team will also support with the registration process.
