Racket Sports Details and Booking

St Peter’s Leisure Centre offers a range of racket sports, including pickleball, badminton, short tennis, table tennis, and squash. Whether you’re playing with friends, practising your technique, or organising a small group session, these sports are a fun and active way to stay fit while enjoying some friendly competition.

All bookings are made in 55-minute slots starting at 5 minutes past the hour, giving you plenty of time to play while allowing staff a short 5-minute preparation window at the start of each session to reset and prepare the space for your group.  

Badminton / Pickleball / Table Tennis / Short Tennis

  • Peak (weekday after ~5 pm): £12.75 per hour
  • Off-peak (weekday before ~5 pm & weekends): £11.25 per hour
    (Bookings are for 55 minutes to allow a short buffer for setup/clear-down.)

Squash Court

Off-peak: £10.00 for 40 minutes
(Please note, squash bookings are for 40 minutes.)

Peak: £11.00 for 40 minutes

1. Online – through the Burnley Leisure & Culture booking system. You can book courts and sports hall time slots via the centre’s website using the Leisure Hub / booking platform – bookings are available to reserve online up to seven days in advance.

2. By phone
Call the centre reception on 01282 953444 to make a booking over the phone – this can be useful if you want help checking availability or arranging a block booking (regular sessions).

3. In person at reception
You can walk in and book directly at the leisure centre reception desk, subject to current availability on the system.

Ylock bookings are available for the sports hall at St Peter’s Leisure Centre. You can secure a regular slot for your group or activity by requesting a block booking, which is typically paid by Direct Debit or quarterly invoice. This is ideal for clubs, teams or groups who want guaranteed time rather than booking individual 55‑minute slots each week.

Parking is free for 3 hours for users of the centre.

  • Equipment can be rented at £5 per item of kit
  • Shuttlecocks and squash balls will be available for purchase individually.
