ACTIVE NETWORK Terms & Conditions
The core offer of Active Network is Gym, Swimming* and Fitness Classes. Customers qualify for the Active Network (AN) Membership by being direct debit or annual member of their local leisure centre on any of the below memberships categories. This is termed as ‘Home Club’.

Terms and Conditions for The Active Network
Who Can Use Active Network?
- A Direct Debit or Annual member
- On an eligible membership category
- Up to date with all payments at home club
Members home club must remain their primary place of use.
What Counts as a Visit?
- Members are entitled to 8 visits per calendar month at other participating centres.
A visit means use of one activity or facility. If members use more than one activity on the same day (for example gym and swim), this counts as separate visits. After 8 visits in a month, standard pay-as-you-go charges will apply at the visiting site. Unused visits cannot be carried forward.
When Visiting Another Centre;
- Members must complete a registration process when visiting a participating site for the first time. A valid membership card or digital proof of membership from their home club must be presented.
- You may need to sign in at reception on every visit.
- Cannot pre-book classes.
- Priority for classes is given to members of that site.
- Some activities may carry additional charges.
- An induction may be required before using gym facilities at a visiting centre. No charge is made for these inductions.
Participating authorities reserve the right to refuse admission where eligibility cannot be confirmed.
Usage Expectations;
- Home club must remain the main centre of use.
- Regularly use of another authority more than the home club, may prompt a transfer in membership.
- Safeguarding policies and codes of conduct apply at every site.
- Active Network usage is monitored monthly to ensure fair access for all members.
Access to Active Network may be restricted, suspended or withdrawn where misuse, excessive use, or breach of these terms is identified. Where access is suspended, members may apply for reinstatement after a period of 6 to 12 months, subject to review by the relevant authority.
Swimming & Additional Facilities;
- Swimming access is during public recreational sessions, early bird and adult sessions (age restrictions apply). Swim timetables available on individual websites.
- Sauna and steam access varies by centre and may incur additional charges.
- Car parking charges may apply at some locations (St. Peters and Roefield)
Data & Privacy
To administer the Active Network scheme, limited personal data (including name, membership status, home site and visit usage) may be shared between participating authorities. This information is used solely to verify eligibility, monitor visit allowances and ensure compliance with Active Network Terms & Conditions.
Participating authorities process this data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018. For full details on Data Protection & Privacy is available on each authority’s website.
