Boating Lake
Enjoy the beauty of Thompson Park from a boat on the boating lake. Boats are available for hire between Easter and end of September on weekends and during every day of school holidays.
Boat Hire Information
Thompson Park is a great day out for all the family.
Located in Thompson Park, the Cafe can be found at the top end of the lake by the paddling pool and children’s playground.
The Boating Lake is open from 12-5.30pm on weekends and every day during school holiday periods from Easter through to the end of September. Final boat goes out at 5pm.
Please note that during periods of bad weather the Boathouse Cafe and Boating Lake may close. Please check our Facebook page for updates (The Boathouse | Facebook)
All under 18s must be accompanied on the boats with an adult.
All Under 16 year olds and non-confident swimmers will be provided with a life-jacket to wear whilst on board.
No access is allowed on the lake unless part of a supervised session.

Boat Hire Pricing
Prices are for a 25 minute hire. Boats are not able to be booked in advance. Simply turn up on the day and you will be allocated a time slot should a boat not be available immediately.
